Job Details
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
2. Manage the general ledger, including reconciliations, adjustments, and maintenance.
3. Participate in year-end audits, working closely with external auditors to ensure compliance with regulations.
4. Provide financial expertise and support to our engineering services team, assisting with budget preparation and cost analysis.
5. Develop and maintain internal control procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
6. Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
7. Assist in the budgeting process, preparing financial forecasts, and analyzing budget variances.
8. Prepare and submit tax documents, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
9. Collaborate with management on the development and execution of funding strategies.
10. Continuously improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions when necessary.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably within the construction industry.
3. Comprehensive understanding of US GAAP and experience with financial statement preparation.
4. Proficiency in general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
5. Experience in conducting audits and working with external auditors.
6. Strong budgeting skills with the ability to forecast and analyze budget variances.
7. Ability to provide financial expertise to non-financial managers, specifically within engineering services.
8. Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
9. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
11. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is preferred.
