Software Resources has an immediate, contract job opportunity for a Senior Accountant with a major corporation in Orlando, FL. On-site 4 days per week, Remote Fridays.

Statutory Accounting experience preferred

Description :
As a key member of Parks Controllership, this position plays an active role through all stages of the accounting process including close processes, technical accounting, consolidations, control maintenance and oversight, and financial statement creation and analysis using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

• Reconciliation of balance sheet and income statement accounts;
• Analysis of monthly operating results to include revenue accounts, gross margins, operating expenses and key cost center reports;
• Development of reports to identify key operating variances versus budget, forecast and prior year for presentation to management;
• Providing financial support for quarterly reviews and annual audits.

Major Responsibilities:

• Key contributor to the monthly and quarterly close process control maintenance and oversight including reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations, policy issuance and oversight, investigating variances to expectations, user access reviews, and accounting error root cause analysis and implementation of financial controls
• Provide insight and executive presentations to company leaders to ensure they have the most up to date and reliable information to make the best decisions possible
• Record and report financial transactions and prepare monthly financial statements including balance sheets, profit and loss and subsidiary statements
• Assist with corporate reporting by compiling, reviewing and analyzing requested financial information
• Lead and assist in ad hoc projects designed to improve processes within the finance organization while also seeking to create buy-in and build consensus among stakeholders
• Assist with researching and documenting technical accounting considerations and conclusions

Qualifications :

• Statutory Accounting experience is preferred
• 6+ Years Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills; strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Expert knowledge of MS Excel with ability to manipulate complex data and create advanced macros.
• Complete knowledge of GAAP...CPA certification a plus.

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor's and/or Masters degree in accounting

EXPERIENCE:

• 3+ years professional working experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred
