We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accountant to join our fast-paced finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and filing corporate tax returns, maintaining tax records, preparing quarterly and annual tax reports, and providing support during tax audits. This role will also involve researching tax laws and regulations, providing guidance on tax-related issues, and developing tax strategies to optimize our financial position. As a senior member of our team, you will also be expected to mentor junior staff and contribute to the development of our tax accounting processes and procedures.

We're currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team in the construction industry. This is a permanent position offering a unique opportunity to utilize and expand your accounting skills in a challenging and rewarding environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial accounting, cost accounting, and preparation of financial statements. You will play a crucial role in providing financial insights and reports that will aid in strategic decision making.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the preparation of financial statements, summaries, and other cost-benefit analyses and financial management reports.
2. Perform variance analyses and prepare account reconciliations.
3. Conduct regular ledger maintenance.
4. Implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology.
5. Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics.
6. Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts.
7. Provide for a system of management cost reports.
8. Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit.
9. Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
10. Conduct timely and detailed reviews of all financial data.
11. Develop and implement financial policies and procedures and ensure compliance.
12. Collaborate with external auditors and manage audit processes.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree or CPA certification will be considered an asset.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the construction industry.
3. Proficient in financial accounting, cost accounting, and preparation of financial statements.
4. Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
6. Experience with accounting software and database management.
7. Exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
8. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
9. Ability to work independently, manage large, complex projects, and meet deadlines.
10. Strong interpersonal skills and a proven track record of collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team.
11. Demonstrated integrity, ethical standards, and understanding of confidentiality.
