Senior Accountant - Infrahire

Responsibilities

General Ledger Management:

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Prepare and review journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Perform regular account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

• Prepare and analyze financial statements for company leadership and the Board.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts, and provide ongoing budget vs. actual analysis.
• Support the finance team with audits by providing documentation and explanations for accounts payable transactions.

Process Management:

• Develop, implement, and maintain accounts payable policies and procedures.
• Monitor and improve the efficiency of the accounts payable workflow.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies.

Oversee Accounts Payable Operations:

• Manage the full cycle of the accounts payable process from invoice receipt to payment.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, expense reports, and payment requests.
• Verify and reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.

Vendor Relations:

• Maintain positive relationships with vendors and respond to inquiries promptly.
• Negotiate payment terms and manage vendor disputes effectively.
• Conduct regular reviews of vendor accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Payroll Management:

• Manage the entire payroll process, including data collection, calculation, and disbursement of employee salaries.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
• Maintain accurate payroll records and prepare payroll reports for management.

Team Leadership:

• Supervise and provide guidance to junior accounts staff.
• Train new employees on accounts payable procedures and systems.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting role
• Experience overseeing and leading a team is preferred.

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards; experience with tax compliance and audit procedures.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
