Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and maintain financial reports, performing regular ledger entries, and providing monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.
2. Manage all aspects of accounting including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, internal controls, and financial reporting.
3. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with GAAP (General Accepted Accounting Principles) and other accounting regulations.
4. Develop and implement effective internal controls to prevent inaccuracies in financial documents and reports.
5. Analyze financial data and create financial models for decision support, including forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
6. Oversee tax planning and compliance in accordance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
7. Manage payroll functions, ensuring timely and accurate disbursement and record-keeping.
8. Utilize Microsoft Dynamics GP for various accounting operations.
9. Perform research, reconciliation, and resolution of all accounting, auditing, and tax issues.
10. Collaborate with other team members to support overall department goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. A Master’s degree in Accounting or a related field or a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accountant role or a similar position.
3. Proven experience in managing accounts payable and receivable, budgeting, internal controls, financial reporting, audit, tax compliance, and payroll.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics GP and other financial software.
5. Excellent knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles, laws, regulations, and guidelines.
6. Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and analyze financial data and create financial reports.
7. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial record keeping.
8. Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to work collaboratively with a team.
9. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
10. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
