Job Details
Position Responsibilities:
- Provide significant support during the month-end close and the preparation of divisional and corporate financial statements.
- Generate monthly and quarterly journal entries, including those for payroll, prepaid expenses, and accruals.
- Conduct monthly and quarterly balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Perform financial reporting tasks for the company during the month-end close.
- Suggest enhancements to daily and monthly processes to increase efficiency in accounting tasks.
- Assist in maintaining product costing and performing quarterly cost updates.
- Handle regulatory reporting such as sales tax and VAT, with guidance from the Corporate Controller.
- Maintain precise fixed asset records, covering depreciation, additions, and disposals.
- Offer backup or additional support for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Order Entry as needed.
- Establish and maintain EDI connections with customers.
- Aid in completing the annual review, business valuation, and any other external audits.
- Support GL maintenance and the addition or modification of divisions and/or territories.
- Conduct ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 2-5 years of experience in public or private accounting, with a preference for manufacturing industry experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel. PowerBI experience is a plus.
- Experience with ERP systems; EDI experience is advantageous.
- Self-motivated and capable of making day-to-day decisions independently.
- Proven track record of process improvement.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in English is essential.
