Job Title: Senior Accountant

General Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying our financial transactions. Senior Accountant responsibilities include reconciling and/or reviewing account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures. A successful Senior Accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts. The ideal candidate has also experience collaborating and/or managing a team of accountants.
Senior accountant duties also include ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all our accounting tasks.
This position will be based out of North Aurora, IL.
Responsibilities:
- Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
- Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
- Analyze financial information and summarize financial status, specifically as it relates to the performance of the factory operations
- Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
- Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
- Manage processes run by 3rd party accounting firm
- Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process
- Provide input into department’s goal setting process
- Assist with financial statement and tax audits
- Assist with internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
- Support month-end and year-end close process for four companies (manufacturing campus, three sales organizations plus consolidations). This will include A/P accruals, journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis etc.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Understanding of creating and posting intercompany transactions. Support sales order process, focusing on initiating deposit invoices for larger orders
Educational/Experience Requirements:
- BS Degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant
- At least 3 plus years of Experience preferred.
- Worked in a manufacturing environment is a plus but not required.
- Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
- In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Familiarity with financial accounting statements
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- Hands-on experience with ERP Systems such as Visual, JDE, Quick books, Planful, etc.
- Analyze manufacturing and financial data via PowerBI
- Advanced MS Excel skills including VLOOKUP’s and pivot tables
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills

This position will have a base working schedule of Monday to Friday starting from 4am to 6am and ending from 2:30pm to 4:30pm. Overtime and extended daily hours may be required depending on production demand. Saturday requirements vary depending on the production facility's capacity and can vary weekly, month to month.The person working in this position will be out on the production floor daily. Always maintain company safety standards regarding required personnel protective equipment usage, and safe working practices.
