We are currently seeking a dynamic and highly-experienced Contract Senior Accountant to join our fast-paced finance team. This role will be responsible for managing a broad range of accounting functions, including financial analysis, general ledger maintenance, financial statement preparation, grant accounting, and internal controls. As a Contract Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our organization, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and laws, and providing valuable financial insights to drive decision-making. This is a contract position requiring a minimum of three years of experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities:

Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness
Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities including reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts, coordination and completion of annual audits, and reviewing financial reports/support as necessary
Manage and oversee the entire accounting team conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and discrepancies
Develop and maintain internal control systems to ensure compliance with accounting standards and laws
Handle grant accounting and reporting, ensuring that funds are correctly allocated and reported
Collaborate with the finance team and other business units to improve financial procedures
Assist with tax preparation and planning in compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws
Provide strategic financial insights based on financial analysis and projections to the management team

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master's degree or CPA is a plus
A minimum of three years of experience in accounting or a related field
Strong understanding of GAAP and other accounting principles
Proficiency in financial analysis, general ledger management, financial statement preparation, grant accounting, and internal controls
Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, and cost control principles
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and accounting software
Excellent analytical skills coupled with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner
Strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively address all levels within the organization
High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
