POSITION SUMMARY:
About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our rapidly growing team. Based in New York and reporting directly to the Director of Accounting, the Senior Accountant will play a key role within the Accounting team. This individual will be responsible for performing various accounting functions across our portfolio, with a specific focus on our Hospitality and Entertainment divisions.
What You Will Do
- General Accounting Operations:
- Assist with day-to-day accounting operations.
- Analyze G&A expense accounts and prepare accrual journal entries as appropriate.
- Reconcile accounts monthly to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
- Bank and Cash Management:
- Ensure proper reconciliation of various bank accounts and resolve outstanding items in a timely manner.
- Post daily cash journal entries and ensure accuracy.
- Fixed Assets and Prepayments:
- Identify, record, and ensure the timely capitalization of fixed assets.
- Track prepayments and post amortization entries as needed.
- Collaboration and Process Improvement:
- Raise accounting issues and coordinate with the accounting team to drive consistency across processes and controls.
- Assist the Accounting Manager with 3rd-party-related tasks and entries.
- Audit and Reporting:
- Assist with year-end audit requests by preparing necessary documentation and analysis.
- Handle other ad-hoc assignments as needed.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Minimum 3 years professional accounting experience.
- Knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles.
- Experience in supporting Accounting close processes.
- Understanding of prepayments and accrued expenses.
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Dynamics or other equivalent ERP system.
- Experience managing Balance Sheet reconciliations.
- A team player who has the ability to multi-task and is self-directed.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
- Must be deadline focused, organized and exhibit problem-solving skills.
- Handle a dynamic work environment with competing priorities.
