Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the financial operations of the organization
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports
- Manage the budgeting and forecasting process
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures
- Manage grant accounting and reporting
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to senior management
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial goals are met
- Train and mentor junior staff members
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years’ minimum experience working in nonprofit or government accounting (2 years’ minimum supervisory experience preferred
- Detailed knowledge of grant accounting principles and GAAP.
- Familiarity with budgeting/reporting for other NYC or NYS social services funding agencies (NYC DOHMH, NYC DYCD, NYS OCFS, NYS OMH, NYS OTDA) preferred
- Previous fiscal work experience with NYC ACS Foster Care programs very strongly preferred
- Experience preparing NYS SSOP and Uniform Guidance (formerly A-133) audits
- Able to provide insightful analysis of complex fiscal issues in a timely manner
