About the Organization- Senior Accountant:

• CFS is working with a global provider for insurance products seeking a Senior Accountant to join their growing team
• This position is reporting to the Controller in New York but they are open to candidates who are open to commuting to downtown Manhattan, or Connecticut
• Their main clients include construction/developments and engineering and have revenue in the billions

Role Responsibilities- Senior Accountant:

• Accounting activities as it relates to premiums, losses, deposit accounting, collateral, cash allocations and recoveries
• Assist with the preparation of quarterly, annual and periodic US GAAP and IFRS financial statements
• Assist in the identification and implementation of process improvements related to the GAAP and IFRS financial statement process.
• Compile and utilize large data sets for financial reporting and analysis.
• Facultative premium and claim validation, settlement and collections
• Cash applications; research open cash items
• Researching, reconciling and responding to broker and internal client inquiries
• Monthly confirmation and reconciliation of system generated ceded balances to general ledger source reports
• Quarter and Year End reporting

Ideal Qualifications of the Senior Accountant:

• 3+ years of IFRS and GAAP experience
• Bachelor's Degree, preferably in accounting or finance
• 5+ years of hands on accounting experience
• Strong Excel knowledge and exposure to various accounting systems
• CPA is a plus
• Experience in the insurance industry is a plus
