Position Summary:This position represents a unique opportunity to provide accounting and finance expertise and work daily with a broad array of corporate and department level management on key issues. This person should have knowledge and experience in applying and interpreting technical accounting, reporting and disclosure requirements. In addition, this person should have a knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley and will be responsible for assisting with the monthly close process.
Responsibilities:• Participate in the accurate and timely preparation of the monthly and annual closing process.
• Post recurring monthly journal entries.
• Review GL postings to ensure correct recording of transactions.
• Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and update monthly to ensure accurate reporting.
• Prepare the balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other financial reports/packages as deemed necessary.
• Provide detailed analysis for month end closing.
• Assist in the implementation of effective accounting controls and business processes.
• Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
• Support financial statement audits and reports.
• Research and implementation of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
• Assist in the accurate and timely preparation and filing of the company’s 10-K, 10-Q filings, including assisting in drafting footnote disclosures, and assisting with the issuance of the earnings release. Work with relevant stakeholders to address comments on filings; prepare supporting schedules.
• Assist with technical accounting research and documentation of new policies and procedures.
• Assist in the internal control systems to safeguard assets, ensure accurate financial reporting, and mitigate risks.
• Special projects and other assignments as required.
• CPA or equivalent preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• 3-6 years of total experience.
• Experience with a Big 4 or national firm and/or SEC registered company preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with all levels of an organization.
• Strong analytical skills with high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines and strong problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Experience with NetSuite a plus.
• Strong ability to work together in and communicate with the Finance team.
