Job Details:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accountant to join our construction industry team. This position is a critical role in our organization and will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of accounting tasks, including month-end close, fixed assets, reconciliations, budgeting, and GAAP. This is a permanent position that offers an exciting opportunity for career growth and development.

Responsibilities:

Lead the month-end close process, ensuring all financial data is accurately recorded in a timely manner.
Manage the company's fixed assets, including recording acquisitions and dispositions, calculating depreciation, and conducting periodic physical inventory counts.
Perform reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
Assist in the preparation and management of the company's budget, including variance analysis and forecasting.
Ensure all financial transactions and reports are in compliance with GAAP.
Collaborate with external auditors, providing necessary information and answering inquiries.
Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the company's financial reporting process.
Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff, as needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry.
Solid understanding of accounting principles and standards, including GAAP.
Proficiency in month-end close, fixed assets, reconciliations, and budgeting.
Strong analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
Continuous learner, staying updated with changes in financial regulations and best practices in accounting.
