Senior Accountant - Leon Medical Centers

SUMMARY

Assist the finance department in creating timely and accurate financial statements and assists with special financial projects. Ensures legal and regulatory compliance for all accounting and financial reporting functions.  Contributes to the financial reporting and budget process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Processes and prepares journal entries on a monthly basis.
2. Reconciles general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
3. Balances the general ledger.
4. Completes monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
5. Assists in preparing quarterly reporting deliverables.
6. Prepares monthly variance analysis for the Balance Sheet and Income Statement.
7. Posts general journal entries on a monthly basis. 
8. Completes external and internal reports on a timely basis.
9. Prepares all reconciliations and year-end work papers.
10. Assists with the annual financial statement audit including communicate with the auditors, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting.
• Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
• Highly proficient with accounting software.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Minimum three (3) years of accounting experience.

EDUCATION

Bachelor of Accounting Degree
