Job Details
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee key accounting functions, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance, and support in the decision-making process. This position requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounting processes, a strong understanding of financial statements, and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of company financial transactions, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and inventory.
Provide support for the annual audit process and work closely with external auditors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Monitor cash flow and prepare regular forecasts to provide insights to management for strategic decision-making.
Manage general ledger accounts, ensuring proper accounting treatment and resolution of discrepancies.
Assist in budgeting and financial planning processes, providing analysis and variance explanations.
Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Support tax filings and compliance, working closely with tax advisors.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation in accounting workflows.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Operations, Procurement, and Sales) to support financial decision-making and improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA designation preferred).
Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior accounting role.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
Experience with accounting software and ERP systems (experience with [specific software, e.g., NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks, etc.], a plus).
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create and analyze complex financial models.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
Previous experience in a manufacturing or safety-focused industry is a plus.
