Are you a seasoned professional in the finance industry with a knack for strategic planning, financial management, and control? We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Permanent Controller to join our dynamic team. This position is an integral part of our finance department and will be responsible for managing the overall financial operations of the organization. The ideal candidate will have extensive lending experience, loan level accounting, and revenue recognition for HFS and HFI.
Responsibilities:
The Permanent Controller will have the following responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage the overall financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, audit, and tax functions.
2. Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization.
3. Develop, implement, and maintain accounting and administrative policies and procedures for a wide-ranging set of activities including financial accounting and reporting, employee relations (payroll), and other corporate policies.
4. Ensure the company's financial reports comply with standard accounting principles and state and federal regulations.
5. Maintain a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
6. Analyze and interpret financial data and recommend changes to improve systems and financial performance.
7. Handle loan level accounting and revenue recognition for HFS and HFI.
8. Work with senior teams to grow the business, formulating strategies and plans.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. An MBA or related advanced degree is preferred.
2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position.
4. Extensive lending experience, loan level accounting, and revenue recognition for HFS and HFI.
5. Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
6. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
7. Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
8. Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.
9. Strong proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
