MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:
· Graduate from an accredited college with a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or Accounting;
· At least five (7) years of finance/accounting non-profit organizational management experience in budget development and analysis, fiscal forecasting, cost accounting, reimbursement, funding programs, and/or fiscal systems preferred;
· Must be proficient in MS Word/Excel and an Accounting database system.
· Must be organized, detail-oriented and have the ability to handle confidential information and
interface effectively with all levels of management.
· Possess excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
· Must have the ability to problem solve, meet deadlines, and follow through on work
assignments through completion, in a fast-paced work environment.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF FUNCTIONS:
· Oversee the day-to-day finance/accounting operations and departmental staff which includes financial statements, maintaining/reconciling general ledger accounts, accounts payable, accounts receivable, accounting database computer system, and other related accounting functions.
· Offer advanced analysis and review of financial transactions for troubleshooting and correcting errors in the organization’s financial system
· Organize data from units; keep an update on reports, examine statistical facts to determine errors and rectify them, and carry out a review of general content
· Function with department personnel to guarantee that tracking, accounting tasks, and supervision are in strict conformity with Federal and State regulations, and established company procedures
· Evaluate internal procedures, as well as analytical statements so as to give suggestions on how to enhance the information process and resource flow
· Evaluate, certify, and coordinate ledger entries in adherence to rules, while guaranteeing that close activities are accomplished promptly and accurately
· Periodically assemble and evaluate monetary packages, while carrying out analytical processes fashioned to identify unusual variations and making sure that errors in monetary statements are discovered and corrected
· Assist in formulating, implementing, and enforcing accounting-related policies and procedures throughout the Agency in compliance with federal, state, and other outside regulatory bodies.
· Assist in directing the fiscal, revenue, budget, procurement, contracts, and other functions of the department.
· Responsible for the analysis, development, implementation, and evaluation of the Agency’s financial management reports to ensure that effective reporting and control systems are maintained.
· Manages the design, implementation, and evaluation of the financial reporting systems, policies, and practices.
· Participate in directing the preparation, administration, and control of the Agency budget, and
· Acts as liaison for activities with State and Federal legislatures, agencies, and departments in matters regarding revenue programs of the department and audits.
· Performs analysis of revenue, budgets, and other reports requested by management.
· Review the preparation of financial reports as needed for management for outside regulatory bodies.
