Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant with prior public accounting experience to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in accounting principles, a proven track record in public accounting, and the ability to manage multiple financial tasks efficiently. In this role, you will support the accounting department by overseeing financial statements, tax returns, audits, and internal controls, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
- Perform account reconciliations, analyze financial data, and provide insightful financial reports to management.
- Oversee and ensure the accuracy of tax filings, including federal, state, and local tax returns.
- Assist in managing internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and resolving any discrepancies.
- Review and enhance internal controls and processes to improve financial operations and reporting.
- Manage and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and other third-party partners.
- Assist in the preparation of budget forecasts and variance analysis.
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting for management.
- Ensure compliance with all accounting regulations, including federal and state laws.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification preferred.
- Must have NetSuite experience
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience with experience in public accounting (highly preferring Big4 experience).
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax laws, and accounting principles.
- Experience with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with senior leadership and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in consumer services industries, real estate etc
- Proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
- Familiarity with audit and tax preparation processes.
