Senior Accountant
We are currently seeking candidates for a Senior Accountant opportunity with a biotech organization located in Lexington, MA. The Senior Accountant will be involved with core accounting functions, including ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining GAAP compliance, and managing vendor invoicing, payments, and reconciliations. The ideal candidate will have 2-4+ years of related accounting experience.
This is a 4-6-month contract-to-hire opportunity, offering $35-$45/hour, depending on experience. This role supports an on-site work model (5 days/week).

Responsibilities:
- Oversee key accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with company policies and U.S. GAAP
- Prepare payments via checks, ACH, and wire transfers while meeting deadlines.
- Monitor bank activity, record additional entries for auto-debits (e.g., payroll, bank fees), and perform account reconciliations.
- Ensure accurate and efficient processing of vendor invoices in line with company policies.
- Match purchase orders and receipts to invoices, promptly resolving any discrepancies.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date records for transactions, journal entries, and reconciliations.
- Complete reconciliations for cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, and prepaid expenses.
- Assist with accounts receivable (AR) by reviewing billings and monitoring collections for accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with team members on financial audit inquiries during quarterly and annual audits.
- Assist in preparing for month-end and year-end processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2-4+ years of relevant accounting experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent data management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Solid organization and time management skills.
