Senior Accountant
Location: Irvine, CA (Onsite, 5 days a week)
Salary: $100,000 - $110,000 (Potentially higher for exceptional experience)
Our client, a leading entertainment company based in Irvine, CA, is searching for an experienced Senior Accountant with a solid background in entertainment, food & beverage, or hospitality. Job Summary
The Senior Accountant will oversee essential accounting functions, including general ledger accountability, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and project-based financial tasks. This role will involve preparing financial statements, conducting P&L analysis, and supporting monthly and quarterly financial close activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct G&A cost center analysis, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and provide reports to Department Managers.
- Manage month-end close activities: journal entries, GL reconciliation, and accruals.
- Prepare supporting schedules and perform data analysis.
- Ensure accurate account analysis, reconciling actual vs. budgeted expenses, and verifying account postings.
- Handle debt, interest, and other assigned accounts, with a focus on entertainment, restaurant, and inventory management.
- Support external audit processes and manage A/R tasks, including issuing customer statements, payment applications, and refunds.
- Process property tax returns, business licenses, and enter completed wire transfers in the accounting system.
- Oversee commission payments, improve work processes, and strengthen internal controls.
- Analyze costs, cost of goods sold, profitability, and other key performance indicators.
- Manage accounting for multi-unit operations and work cross-departmentally to ensure accurate reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of general ledger experience with multi-location and multi-subsidiary environments.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and NetSuite (preferred but not required).
- Advanced Excel skills and strong working knowledge of GAAP.
- Industry experience in entertainment, food & beverage, or hospitality is required.
