Triumph Enterprises is currently looking for a Senior Accountant to join us supporting a federal government client with an important mission. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a great team while serving a fulfilling mission.
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining detailed financial records, and ensuring compliance with federal standards. This role supports the contract by processing payments, reconciling accounts, and developing financial reporting and associated processes, ensuring accuracy and accountability in all financial dealings.
Location: Keyport, WA
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will work directly with our government client and support team members to:
- Prepare and examine financial records
- Ensure that financial records are accurate and in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Prepare financial documentation, including directives, instructions, reports, forms, and manuals, to ensure financial activities are well-documented and compliant.
- Perform payroll processing and resolve discrepancies to ensure contract staff are compensated accurately and on time.
- Reconcile accounts and prepare financial reports for audits, ensuring compliance with regulations and readiness for financial inspections.
- Review and verify the accuracy of financial data, ensuring consistency and compliance with accounting standards.
- Maintain an organized filing system for financial documents to facilitate easy retrieval during audits.
- Generate monthly and quarterly financial summaries to support contract performance assessments.
- Collaborate with the financial team to develop cost-saving measures and identify opportunities for financial efficiencies.
- Ensuring desk guides exist and are accurate for all accountant positions.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in bookkeeping principles and accounting software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Visio for flowcharting processes.
- Experience with account reconciliation, reporting, and audit support.
- High level of accuracy in transactions and record-keeping.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills required.
- Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated.
- Must demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, excellent customer service skills, and be able to handle pressure.
- The ability to communicate professionally, both orally and in writing, with customers, vendors, management, and coworkers.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in financial management, bookkeeping, and compliance with contract standards.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial auditing
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Knowledge of auditing standards and processes, including documenting and modifying processes and controls, identifying internal control deficiencies through testing and remediation of deficiencies, and evaluating transaction-level evidential matter.
- Flowcharting processes with Microsoft Visio.
Education Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in accounting or business with an accounting emphasis (24 semester or 36 quarterly hours in accounting.
Clearance Requirements:
- US Citizenship is required with ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
Desired Skills:
- Proficiency in financial software.
- Strong analytical and reconciliation skills.

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
Work Environment:
- This job is 100% on-site at a customer site and is performed indoors in an office setting.
