Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for supporting the overall goals and objectives of the Corporate Accounting department. Specific responsibilities of the Senior Accountant can change over time to provide proper work balance within the department. Current responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Responsibilities & Requirements:
+ Participate in and support the monthly general ledger and financial reporting close processes, including performance of key controls
+ Perform accounting and analysis for global pension defined benefit and post-retirement obligations
+ Guide and communicate with both US and non-US site accounting teams regarding their pension defined benefit obligations accounting and reporting, including monthly monitoring of global pension accounts
+ Engage with external pension actuaries throughout valuation and accounting process
+ Prepare the monthly mark-to-market journal entries for all Flowserve sites and reconcile to the third-party reports; communicate with sites and verify accurate and timely posting by each site
+ Analyze and adjust Flowserve’s expatriate tax liability
+ Prepare the monthly ARO journal entries for all Flowserve sites and engage with Global Real Estate function to obtain monthly updates
+ Reconcile and analyze selected general ledger accounts as assigned
+ Assist with preparing quarterly and annual financial reporting and audit schedules for the 10-Q and 10-K or other adhoc reporting as needed.
+ Work with the third-party service provider to ensure the preparation, submission and timely filing of unclaimed property reports as required in all jurisdictions Flowserve operates
+ Communicate with other Corporate functional areas and global site locations
+ Provide audit deliverables and interact as required with the internal and external audit teams
+ Provide assistance with various accounting related projects including SOX processes and procedures, accounting process workflows or financial systems
+ Communicate with Business Support Center (shared services accounting group) and provide guidance as needed
+ Cross-train with other Corporate Accounting functions to support task backups as assigned
+ Assist with special projects as assigned
Required Experience / Skills:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
+ 3-5 years experience in an relevant role
+ Possess a strong knowledge of GAAP and SOX controls
+ Ability to work with minimal direction, posses problem solving skills, and self motivated
+ Excellent analytical abilities, communication and strong interpersonal skills
+ Ability to interact with associates and leaders throughout the organization
+ Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel
Preferred Experience / Skills:
+ Knowledge of SAP or other similar ERP software preferred
+ BPC or similar consolidation tools preferred
+ Experience in a large, global organization preferred
This is a hybrid role. 3 days in office / 2 days remote
