This position will be responsible for supporting the accounting function for intercompany settlement. Working with cross-department business leaders, tax, treasury, and local accounting teams to ensure a seamless process through proposal, approval and posting into the companyâ??s financial statements. Candidates will work in a fast-paced environment, manage through ambiguity and complexity while supporting intercompany settlement activity impacting the global accounting organization. Previous experience with intercompany accounting is considered a plus. This role requires excellent communication and organization skills, including the ability to anticipate, identify and communicate risks cross-functional teams.
Key job responsibilities
â?¢ Responsible for ownership of the global intercompany restricted currency settlement across 35 countries.
â?¢ This includes reviewing invoices and other backup documentations, coordination with regional accounting and tax teams, and supporting restricted related settlement system enhancements and launch projects.
â?¢ Lead intercompany out-of-balance (OOB) processes during the month end close, including coordination with internal shared services team and engaging with global business and process accounting owners.
â?¢ Supporting various aspects of our accounting and reporting process.
â?¢ Execute judgments to maintain healthy operational processes and ensure the right decisions are reached to close the books each month.

Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of Fortune 500 operational accounting experience
- CPA
- Knowledge of internal control framework (specifically COSO) to assess control design and operational efficiency
- Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification
- Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients
- Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $56,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
