About the Job
Indy West Christian School is seeking a mature Christian individual to fill our Senior Accountant opening. The ideal candidate has prior experience preparing financial reports, tracking assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities. They should also possess excellent oral and written communication and strong problem-solving and project management skills.

It is expected that the Senior Accountant will:

Required Professional Qualities
It is expected that the Senior Accountant will possess:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or associate's degree in accounting with minimum 2 years' experience.
- Working knowledge of GAAP and general ledger maintenance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workplace, and accounting software.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and project management skills.
- Able to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to relate and work well with various levels of leadership.
Essential Job Functions - Accountabilities
It is expected that the Senior Accountant will:
- Accounting
- Audit, review, analyze, and reconcile assigned accounts, ledgers, and reports
- Track fixed assets
- Create and provide department heads with profit and loss statements
- Communicate with department heads regarding budgets
- Be proficient in data entry utilizing various school software products.
- Assist Finance Department (including CRO) as needed.
- Assist in processing School Choice Voucher applications.
- Assist in electronic collection and filing of HR documentation.
- Maintain a positive attitude toward the school, and with students, parents, and administration.
- Participate in in-service programs as assigned.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by administration.
- Possess a conviction of God's calling to the Christian school ministry.
- Follow the Matthew 18 principle in all relationships and in dealing with conflict.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
