Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting within the construction industry and possess a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification. This role will be crucial in managing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and providing strategic financial insights to support the company's growth and success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Prepare, analyze, and present financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits.
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls.
- Monitor project costs and perform job cost analysis.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate financial reporting on projects.
- Prepare and file tax returns and ensure timely payments.
- Mentor and supervise junior accounting staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA certification is required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and construction accounting principles.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate).
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with other Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
