As they continue to expand their operations, they are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join their team and work alongside their Controller to drive financial excellence and support our growth initiatives.
Position Overview: Our client is looking for a talented Senior Accountant who will play a key role in their finance department. Reporting directly to the Controller, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for various aspects of financial accounting and reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in their financial processes. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of their company while gaining valuable experience in the manufacturing industry.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Controller to oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger maintenance, and month-end close processes.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, variance analysis, and financial reports to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and investigate and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities to support business objectives and performance targets.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax professionals during annual audits and tax filings, ensuring timely submission and compliance.
- Provide leadership and guidance to junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or similar industry.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP principles, financial reporting standards, and accounting best practices.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide valuable insights.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and interact with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven leadership abilities with a track record of mentoring and developing staff.
