The Role
We're looking for an experienced Senior Accountant II - Specialist to join our team. This role is geared for the person who wants to specialize in commission and inventory accounting while being the backup senior generalist on the team.
You'll help bring rigor and structure to our accounting processes, working on everything from month-end close to helping us implement smarter tools. It's not just about maintaining what's already in place—it's about improving and growing with us.

What You'll Be Doing
Here's a snapshot of the areas you will focus on:
Commission Accounting
• Calculate and track commissions with precision, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
• Analyze deal profitability by assessing true costs, including discounts, promotions, and other variables.
• Create projections for changes in compensation plans, helping us make informed decisions.
Inventory Accounting
• Manage inventory records for parts, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods.
• Analyze manufacturing costs, including materials, labor, and overhead, and track variances.
• Help refine and implement cost accounting procedures and controls to support growth.
Generalist Accounting
• Lead the month-end and quarter-end close process, preparing journal entries, preparing reconciliations and financial statements.
• Prepare and analyze reports in compliance with US GAAP, providing insights for stakeholders.
• Take on technical accounting areas like ASC 842 and collaborate with external auditors.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable, constantly looking for ways to improve processes.

What We're Looking For
You'll do well in this role if you:
• Have 5+ years of accounting experience, including 2+ years in public accounting and 2+ years in industry.
• Hold a bachelor's degree in accounting (CPA or equivalent preferred).
• Are detail-oriented, organized, and committed to accuracy.
• Enjoy problem-solving and learning independently—whether that's digging into a tutorial or finding creative solutions.
• Have advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and complex formulas).
• Are familiar with tools like Bill.com, QuickBooks Online, Concur, HubSpot, Salesforce, or NetSuite.
Bonus Points If You:
• Have experience working in fast-growing or startup environments.
• Understand sales tax rules, intercompany reconciliation, or audits.
• Thrive on improving processes and making systems more efficient.
