We are currently seeking a dynamic and motivated Senior Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation and consolidation of financial statements, account reconciliations, and assisting in the preparation of reports to support internal reporting packages to leaders and executives. This role will also be instrumental in driving continuous improvement and operational enhancements to support a standardized global financial consolidation process.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and consolidate financial statements according to GAAP
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities including reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts, coordination and completion of annual audits, and reviewing financial reports/support as necessary
- Assist in preparing reports to support internal reporting packages to leaders and executives utilizing HFM and other reporting systems
- Support Company goals to drive continuous improvement and operational enhancements as necessary to support a standardized global financial consolidation process
- Collaborate with FP&A and management reporting teams to deliver accurate and timely financial data and reports
- Ensure compliance with all internal controls and policies, and work with external auditors as required
- Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting or related field
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience showing progression in areas of responsibilities
- Experience with financial consolidations and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) preferred
- Experience in preparing consolidated account reconciliations preferred
- Experience working for a public organization or experience with financial consolidations is preferred
- Experience working in or with external reporting or FP&A and management reporting is preferred
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial data and information to non-financial managers and executives
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve accounting and financial issues
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly with advanced Excel skills
