Job Details
Job Summary
The primary responsibilities of the Senior Account are to actively participate in the monthly close, drive automation and process improvements, while supporting a strong internal controls system. The Senior Accountant will interface with Trading Group Personnel as well as the Manufacturing locations to ensure accurate financials are provided that meet the requirements of the management team. This position is also responsible for the daily financial hedge reconciliation, margin calls and hedge settlement review.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Close & Reporting Responsibilities
· Financial close responsibilities including journal entries, financial reporting, and reconciliations
· Assist with financial planning activities including budgeting and forecasting
· Support year-end financial statement audit including footnote disclosures
Financial Derivatives
· Perform daily hedge entry reconciliation and coordinate corrections with operations
· Review daily hedge position and act as liaison between the broker and the company regarding margin calls and request margin refunds
· Review hedge settlement statements and approve hedge cash payments and receipts
Other Responsibilities
· Partners with the Controller, and CFO to provide Company Executives with analysis and support
· Drives documentation of processes and procedures
Qualifications
Education
· Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance
Experience
· 4+ years of Finance or Accounting experience,
Other required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated ability to follow tasks through to completion with minimal guidance
Strong analytical skills with ability to make data-driven decisions and recommendations
Internal controls and continuous improvement mindset
Excellent customer service skills, including proven communication and interpersonal capabilities
