Job Details:
We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join our client's team in the Healthcare industry. This is a permanent, hybrid role that offers a unique opportunity to play a pivotal part in our company's financial growth and stability. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial health of our organization by administering accounting operations to meet legal requirements. The ideal candidate should be familiar with audits, invoices, budget preparations, and managing accounting activities, including bank reconciliations, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. You should also have excellent organizational skills and be able to handle time-sensitive tasks.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, taxes, and other financial reports.
2. Develop and analyze reporting for business operations and budgets.
3. Perform audits, ensuring adherence to standard requirements.
4. Create new processes to improve financial efficiency.
5. Report analysis and findings to management team.
6. Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including: month and end-year process, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll and utilities, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, trust account statement reconciliations, check runs, fixed asset activity, debt activity etc.
7. Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
8. Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
9. Coordinate and complete annual audits.
10. Provide recommendations to improve systems and financial performance.
11. Work closely with the finance team to ensure smooth operation of all finance matters.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the Healthcare industry.
3. Strong understanding of Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
4. Experience with Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards (SEFA), Single Audit (SSES), Fund Accounting, Grant and Grants Management.
5. Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software, and databases.
6. Ability to manipulate large amounts of data.
7. Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
8. High attention to detail and accuracy.
9. Ability to direct and supervise.
10. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
11. CPA or CMA REQUIRED.
