Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in managing the financial activities of our organization. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the financial reporting, reconciliations, and analysis, as well as assisting with budgeting and forecasting. The Senior Accountant will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA certification is highly preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or related field
- Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience preparing tax returns for foreign entity
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with team members
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for our Canadian Entity
- Perform monthly and quarterly reconciliations of general ledger accounts
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial audits
- Work with Canadian Agency and external tax firms
- Work directly with Canada Entity plant on a monthly basis
- Assist with system implementations and process improvements
