The Position

Grid United is in a rapid growth stage, has created a purpose-built team of motivated and entrepreneurial talent, and is looking to expand the accounting department.  The Senior Accountant will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring the integrity of financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced environment.  This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to roll up your sleeves and contribute to the overall mission of the organization while helping to build a world-class accounting department. 

This role will report to the Controller in Houston, TX.

Key Responsibilities & Outcomes:

Key Responsibilities:

• Journal Entries: Prepare and review journal entries to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Month-End Close: Manage the month-end close process, including account reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP/IFRS.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
• Account Reconciliation: Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Internal Controls: Maintain and enhance internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial data.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and management, to support business initiatives and provide financial insights.
• Audit Support: Assist in the preparation of audit materials and respond to auditor inquiries.
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting function.

Desired Experience and Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Preferred CPA or equivalent certification.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in accounting, including journal entry preparation, month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional organizational skills, including the ability to multi-task efficiently with constant regard for accuracy and quality.
• Proficiency in NetSuite or similar ERP and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a small, nonhierarchical organization.
