Senior Accountant - Hospitality Group - Bentley South Beach

Join our boutique hotel and restaurant team as an Senior Accountant, where you'll play a critical role in overseeing financial operations and guiding our accounting team to success.

Responsibilities

As the Senior Accountant, you will:

1. Team Leadership:
• Supervise and oversee bookkeepers and junior accountants.
• Ensure timely completion of daily financial tasks, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and expense tracking.
2. Financial Oversight:
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes.
• Prepare and review adjusting and closing journal entries.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and credit card accounts.
3. Financial Reporting:
• Generate and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Provide insights and recommendations to management based on financial analysis.
4. Regulatory Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, including sales and lodging taxes.
• Assist in preparing documents for audits and liaise with external auditors as needed.
5. Operational Collaboration:
• Partner with operations and management to optimize financial performance and streamline processes.
• Develop and monitor budgets and forecasts.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
• Experience:
• 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in the hospitality or restaurant industry.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, and GAAP.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficient in accounting software (QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
• Familiarity with POS systems and hotel management software is a plus.
• Soft Skills:
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to lead and inspire a team while managing multiple priorities.
