Position Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in managing day-to-day accounting operations, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP standards.
- Oversee the general ledger maintenance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
- Coordinate the month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries, and ensure deadlines are met in a timely manner.
- Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to enhance internal controls and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities, analyzing variances and providing recommendations to management to support financial decision-making.
- Prepare and review tax filings, including income tax returns, sales tax returns, and other regulatory filings, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local tax laws.
- Assist in coordinating external audits and liaise with auditors to provide necessary documentation and resolve any audit findings or accounting issues.
- Provide guidance and support to accounting staff, including training, mentoring, and supervision, to ensure high-quality work and professional development.
- Stay informed about changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends, and communicate relevant updates to accounting staff and management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.
- 3+ years of progressive experience in accounting roles, with experience in financial reporting, analysis, and internal controls.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze financial data and identify trends and variances.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
