Job Summary:We are looking for a seasoned Senior Accountant to oversee and manage various accounting functions within our organization. The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in financial reporting, analysis, and compliance, ensuring accuracy and integrity in our financial processes. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in accounting, strong leadership skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Responsibilities:
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Manage the general ledger and ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Oversee and coordinate the preparation of financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, including management reports, variance analysis, and budget vs. actuals.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements, including GAAP and relevant tax laws.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and responses to audit inquiries.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, optimize efficiency, and drive continuous improvement in accounting operations.
- Mentor and train junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support to foster professional development.
- Stay updated on emerging accounting trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and promote innovation.
- Handle special projects and ad-hoc assignments as needed by management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting roles, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or senior-level position.
- Thorough understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and internal controls.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite), as well as advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven leadership abilities, including the ability to mentor, motivate, and develop a team.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
