GENERAL PURPOSE:
Conducts specialized and highly complex analysis of financial data for property, plant and equipment in support of the various University Finance functions. Identify and research material variances by working with personnel across the consolidated University system. Reviews and evaluates University accounting policies and procedures for efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) in relation to fixed assets.
**RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Prepare consolidated quarterly financial statements of all University divisions and related entities, specifically for property, plant, and equipment. Prepare quarterly analyses of significant changes in consolidated balance sheet lines. Analyze major revenue and expense lines for reasonableness and variances to prior year activity. Research and provide explanation of material variances.
+ Prepare complex monthly journal entries, general ledger account reconciliations and ad-hoc analyses for the property, plant, and equipment area. Run depreciation within the University’s fixed asset system. Review and approve fixed asset transactions within the University’s general ledger system. Prepares account reconciliations and analyses necessary to ascertain integrity of accounting data, account balances and timeliness of reporting. Makes day-to-day interpretations and decisions on the accounting treatment of financial transactions.
+ Participates in the preparation and review of fiscal year end audit work papers and the consolidated financial statements including balance sheets, statements of activities, and footnote disclosures, specifically for property, plant, and equipment. Identify, research and resolve issues with various University and affiliate personnel.
+ Participate in the configuration, testing and implementation for the University’s fixed asset and University space system replacements. Will be co-lead for biannual upgrade testing for University’s fixed asset system and space management system replacements once implemented.
+ Develops and recommends policies and procedures for accounting systems and financial reporting to maintain or enhance internal controls.
+ As assigned, assumes responsibility for special projects involving research, planning and recommending changes. Assumes responsibility for the project, establishes time tables, activity plans and coordinates the efforts of any subordinate staff. Performs other related duties as assigned.
**QUALIFICATIONS:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting (strongly preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
+ 3 years of professional accounting experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required
+ Financial Experience in University or Academic Medical Center preferred
+ Excellent analytical, organizational, communication skills and attention to detail required. Strong Microsoft Office skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment within tight deadlines required.
+ SAAS Software, Cloud Computing, Financial Management preferred

**Pay Range**
Pay Range: $53,500 - $74,900 Annualy
_The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations._
