Senior Accountant - Financial Reporting
Job Description:
The Financial Reporting Senior is responsible for overseeing financial reporting procedures during period-end close, including cash flows, covenant calculations, and other closing responsibilities. This role also involves participating in various financial reporting tasks such as researching technical issues, preparing the monthly reporting package, and assisting with SEC filings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Execute financial reporting procedures during period close, including preparing consolidated cash flow statements, covenant calculations, and other closing tasks.
- Coordinate the period-end reporting package for executives, collaborating with Corporate Accounting to retrieve FCCS financial statements and obtain fluctuation analyses from process owners for balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow variance analyses.
- Prepare journal entries and assigned account reconciliations on a periodic basis according to the established schedule. Follow up with relevant individuals for corrections and prepare journal entries as needed.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley 404, including updating process narratives and control matrices for the Financial Close and Reporting Process.
- Aid in the preparation of SEC filings, working with various personnel and departments to gather necessary input and supporting documentation.
- Manage the completion and maintenance of support binders for each filing, including Form 10-Ks, Form 10-Qs, Form 8-Ks, exhibits, and earnings scripts.
- Conduct technical accounting research, staying informed about proposed rules, changes, or interpretations issued by the FASB and SEC, and suggest enhanced disclosures based on independent research.
- Prepare technical memos and analyses for complex or non-recurring transactions.
- Support quarterly reviews and year-end audits with internal and external auditors.
- Perform other financial reporting tasks or analyses as assigned.

- Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Accounting System/ERP.

- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in analyzing data, drawing conclusions, interpreting results, and making recommendations regarding accounting treatments.
- Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and comprehend financial reports and legal documents.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written, to address inquiries or complaints from team members, customers, regulatory agencies, or business community members.
- Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings to management, vendors, and other employees.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required.
- 3-5 years of related experience and/or training in SEC and/or Financial Reporting in the industry required.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
