What is the Senior Accountant- Financial Reporting Responsibilities?

• Conduct technical accounting research and prepare documentation, including assessments of new GAAP or statutory reporting requirements.
• Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements.
• Demonstrate expertise in GAAP and statutory accounting principles.
• Create journal entries and supporting worksheets to validate and document account balances.
• Manage the preparation and submission of quarterly and annual filings to ensure compliance.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts with detailed accuracy.
• Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls to protect financial assets and ensure reliable financial reporting.
• Oversee both internal and external audit processes.
• Assist in preparing financial reports for review by executive leadership, regulatory agencies, auditors, financial institutions, and reinsurers.

What are the requirements of this Senior Accountant-Financial Reporting?

• Bachelor’s degree
• 3+ years of accounting experience working for a publicly traded company dealing with SEC reporting (10K/10Q)
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
