Overview:
Reporting directly to the Manager of Financial Reporting, this position will assist with the month-end close process, quarterly and annual financial reporting process, and ongoing projects in preparation for the Oracle NetSuite ERP implementation. This position will also have primary duties and responsibilities for journal entry preparation, performing monthly account reconciliations and analysis, general ledger cleanup projects, technical accounting memo preparation, and financial reporting schedule preparation/enhancement.
Responsibilities:
- Assistance with preparation of SEC filings, including preparation of supporting schedules and documentation, quarterly journal entries, and assistance with preparation of financial statements and disclosures.
- Prepare and enter monthly general ledger entries related to Prepaid Expenses, Deferred Revenue, Accruals, and Receivables.
- Prepare technical accounting memos related to Company transactions, changes to Company accounting policies, or as requested by the Company’s external auditors.
- Assist with and/or perform duties related to master data management; maintenance of reporting hierarchies and system reports; consolidations; and other accounting systems management tasks, including potential system implementations and reporting building.
- Work closely and directly with external auditors in the execution of the audit and quarterly reviews, as it relates to the SEC filings, supporting documentation, and SOX compliance.
- Ensure maintenance of and compliance with appropriate internal controls and financial procedures in compliance with SOX, including recommendations for improvements.
- Maintain adequate electronic data files related to journal entry preparation for auditing and research purposes.
- Maintain balance sheet account reconciliations and record adjusting journal entries as needed.
- Identify opportunities to enhance the month-end and account reconciliation processes for greater efficiency and accuracy.
- MS Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and V-Lookups required.
- Heavy involvement in design and build as well as testing and validation for our Oracle NetSuite ERP System Implementation.
- Build and maintain cross-functional and collaborative relationships with colleagues across Accounting, Operational Departments, Legal, Procurement, IT and others.

- Continuously assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements, including the use of technology to help automate workflows and reduce inefficiencies.
- Perform special analysis and projects as requested.
Candidates need to have the following experience and skills:
- The minimum educational requirement for this position is a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- The minimum related experience required for this position is 2 years of continuous accounting experience.
- Knowledge of accounting and an understanding of general ledger accounts, including reconciliation and analysis.
- Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Working knowledge of Great Plains preferable.
- Experience with Oracle NetSuite and/or an ERP implementation strongly preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant preferred.
- Ability to understand, interpret and analyze technical accounting guidance.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff, management, and external customers.
- Ability to perform analysis on general ledger and other financial information. Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Strong decision-making skills including the ability to extrapolate from written procedures and policies.
- Effective organizational skills and time management skills are necessary.
- Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
