Our esteemed company is seeking a Senior Accountant with a specialty in Financial Reporting. This is a permanent, full-time role that offers a dynamic work environment, competitive salary, and an opportunity to be a part of a team that shapes the financial strategy of our organization. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining our financial health and ensuring compliance with standard accounting practices. This position is ideal for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is adept at managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
The ideal Senior Accountant has expertise in financial reporting, as well as investment accounting and/or private equity industry experience. A Senior Accountant with public accounting, REITs, Fund Accounting or Investment Management experience is preferred but not required.
This is a hybrid position working in the office 1-2 days/week and remote the rest. The preferred location is Annapolis but the company also has offices in Washington DC and Baltimore and is open to someone working in one of those offices, as well. Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Preparation and consolidation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Execution of month-end close procedures, including the preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Conducting bank and intercompany reconciliations.
- Assisting in the implementation of ERP systems, preferably Sage Intacct.
- Researching and resolving technical accounting issues and ensuring compliance with internal controls.
- Collaborating with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
- Analyzing financial data and creating financial models for decision support.
- Assisting in the budgeting and forecasting process and variance analysis.
- Participating in special projects, system enhancements, and ad hoc analyses as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. An advanced degree is a plus.
- CPA certification is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial reporting and public accounting.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and other applicable regulatory rules, regulations, and requirements.
- Experience with ERP implementation, preferably Sage Intacct.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, with exceptional skills in Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
