Senior Accountant and Financial Analyst (CPA)
Direct Hire - 37.5 hrs/wk
Hybrid (min 2 days/week)
Must Haves:
GENERAL SUMMARY: Provide high-level accounting, financial and business management services to include consultation and evaluation of financial system applications, business environment, and organizational structures for financial operations, state affiliates, and associated organizations.

Must Haves:
- Certified Public Accountant designation is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and advanced graduate studies in Accounting, Finance or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills may be acquired.
- Five years of professional accounting and financial management experience. Experience with the full-range of accounting and financial responsibilities such as general ledger, accounts payable, account analyses, bank reconciliation, cash flow management, forecasting, and financial reports and statements
- Extensive professional consulting experience in financial systems design and application, business operations/practices, regulatory and compliance issues, and financial audits.
- Technical expertise with various state-of-the-art financial management systems such as PeopleSoft, SAP, Oracle Financials or similar systems. Advanced spreadsheet proficiency, preferably Microsoft Excel (functions)

- Perform month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, financial statement preparation and financial analyses for assigned business entities.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and other balance sheet reconciliations and independently identify/resolve reconciling items in support of ending asset and liability balances.
- Apply the financial policies and procedures of the company and communicate to management any inconsistencies or issues identified during the daily or month-end close processes.
- Independently communicate with other company personnel and contacts outside of the company to gather needed information and/or resolve issues.
- Reviews existing processes, identifies opportunities for improvement and helps to implement approved changes.
- Stay abreast of emerging financial and accounting issues and conduct impact assessment for company and its affiliates.
OTHER JOB DUTIES: (NOTE: May perform one or more of the following:)
- Develop presentations using presentational software.
- Provide onsite technical assistance to state affiliates and/or associated organizations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
