Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and responding to inquiries.
- Oversee and perform reconciliations, journal entries, and adjustments to ensure the integrity of the general ledger.
- Monitor and analyze account balances, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Collaborate with management to prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial models.
- Analyze variances and trends to provide actionable insights and recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and industry-specific guidelines.
- Prepare and file timely tax returns, including sales, payroll, and corporate taxes.
- Track and reconcile investment portfolios, ensuring accurate reporting of gains, losses, and valuations.
- Work with portfolio managers to assess the financial performance of investments.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of accounting operations.
- Leverage technology and accounting systems to optimize workflows.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred
- 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in investment services, financial services, or a related industry.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax regulations, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with investment accounting systems or portfolio management tools is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
