JOB SUMMARY
In this role you will be considered a key member of the Finance team, partnering with the Controller at our plant in Euclid, OH to drive financial visibility, reporting, and execution. The Senior Accountant works closely with the Controller, Finance/Accounting team & leadership team, providing strategic analysis and decision support, along with accurate financial & operational metrics. The Senior Accountant role is well suited for an individual willing to grow with us. The ideal candidate for the Senior Accountant role is savvy in Excel, has excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal skills, and is able to create and maintain a team-oriented environment and work well with others.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as a business partner to the Controller and General Manager, closely advising them on the continued development, execution, and efficacy of inventory controls.
- Participate in the day-to-day Accounting function for CPP-Euclid, including month end close assistance, revenue recognition, inventory management, cash management, accounts receivable, accounts payable.
- Report on weekly KPI metrics, investigating and commenting on variances from targets.
- Interact with various team members at the site ranging from Manufacturing Supervisors to Executives, providing financial information, training, and guidance.
- Work alongside the Controller and team to review inventory, driving down slow-moving inventory, assessing valuation, and coordinating annual physical inventory counts, and work to further cycle counting procedures.
- Assist in annual standard costing updates through analysis of pricing and manufacturing costing variances.
- Provide timely and accurate daily, weekly, and monthly spend by cost center to Dept managers so that they may manage their departments operations.
- Perform daily adhoc requests including various spend analytics, forecasting, and investigating accounting transactions with the ERP system.
- Assist controller with providing meaningful analysis for management including monthly reporting on departmental budgets, inventory, and other ad hoc items as requested.
- Drive cost accounting and manufacturing accounting initiatives to improve operational metrics, scorecards, and inventory management.
- Provide assistance with the annual external audit, providing sample selections and applicable accounting schedules.
- Partner with Controller to drive improvement initiatives across the accounting organization.
- Leverage MS Excel and database skills to support data management for reporting and analysis.
- Partner with Controller and corporate team for review of monthly account reconciliations.
- Comply with all safety, GAAP and FASB policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates proper attendance and dependability.
- Work on/participate in special projects as needed or assigned by Management.
- Assist the Controller in financial planning and budget preparation.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent & bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance required.
- Experience: 4+ years' experience in a professional Accounting/Finance role required, ideally in the manufacturing industry. Public accounting experience would also be a plus.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and possess strong Excel skills.
- Must have experience with ERP systems / financial reporting software.
- Experienced with general ledger functions and the month-end close process.
- Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Strong analytical and quantitative skillsŁ« with accuracy and attention to detail

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
- Working Environment: Indoor working environment within various areas of a foundry facility/office environment
- Physical Demands: Sitting/standing, using a computer screen, keyboard, and mouse for extended periods of time, ability to lift up to 20lbs occasionally, walking.
- Travel Requirements: None
- Required PPE: PPE varies throughout the plant, check with area supervisor to ensure proper PPE is being used.
- Safety Glasses: Needed in all areas of the plant.
- Steel Toe Shoes: Needed in all areas of the plant.
