GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Senior Accountant position will work within the Finance Department. This position will be responsible for the day-to-day advanced accounting functions including the timely recording of various accounting transactions, preparation of various accounting/audit schedules, and special projects as determined by the needs of the department.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Creates allocation for expenses based on department, program and grant.
- Records various financial adjustments to be processed in the general ledger.
- Reconciles various Balance Sheet accounts timely and accurately.
- Reconciliations shall include necessary adjustments to be processed in the general ledger.
- Prepares various audit schedules as required.
- Assist with month-end close process
- Works on special projects as determined by Leadership.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or related field required
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger review and financial statement preparation.
- Experience with Office 365 applications (intermediate level experience working with MS Excel) required. Experience should include: pivot tables and v-lookups.
- Ability to reconcile various balance sheet accounts required
- Experience working in a cloud-based ERP environment is highly preferred
- Experience working for a non-profit organization or public health sector is preferred
- Experience with grants preferred
- Excellent financial analysis abilities highly preferred
- Strong attention to detail is highly preferred
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and complete tasks on time
