The Senior Accountant is responsible for calculating and owning the execution of the weekly sales commissions process, including liaising with payroll for accurate and timely payments, coordinating with the VP Sales, Manager Sales Operations and CHRO for effective administration of pay policies and plan execution. Additionally, the Sr. Accountant will contribute to month-end close and ad hoc accounting requests.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepares and executes accurate weekly calculations for company sales commission programs
- Perform month end close tasks related to accrued commissions
- Assist with ad hoc requests during month end close, and supervising areas when needed
- In conjunction with Sales VP, HR, and Controller, implements, and maintains business policies, processes, and procedures related to sales commissions programs
- Completes ad hoc and special projects as requested
- Identifies process improvements to drive efficiency and accuracy
- Works cross-functionally with other departments to increase financial reporting accuracy
Required Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of accounting experience
- Proficient use of MS Office Suite, specifically Excel
- Proficient use of Google Suite, specifically Sheets
- Experience with executing payments for commissioned sales programs
- Ability to prioritize workload under time pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Ability to work closely with all levels of staff, including executive management
- Detail-oriented self-starter with strong communication skills
- High ownership of work product; capable of effective self-review
- Experience with accessing data in multiple systems using APIs
- Strong research and reconciliation skills
- Flexible and capable of quickly adapting to a dynamic business and market environment
- Ability to keep highly sensitive information confidential
- Solid understanding of accounting and finance principles
- Understanding of accounting theory/GAAP and ability to perform research as necessary
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree accounting or related field
- CPA
- Experience working with Sage Intacct, TrackVia
Compensation & Benefits:
- $ 90,000 - $105,000 Annual Salary
