Senior Accountant

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Accountant to join a fast-paced startup environment. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing key financial operations, with a focus on managing COGS, revenue recognition, and ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all accounting functions. This role reports directly to the Assistant Controller and involves collaboration with various departments to support business growth and strategic decision-making.

Senior Accountant Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including general ledger entries, financial reporting, and the accurate recording of COGS and revenue transactions.
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes, with a particular focus on COGS analysis and revenue recognition.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to provide insights into financial performance and trends, including detailed COGS and revenue reports.
• Assist in coordinating and liaising with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities as needed.
• Support the Assistant Controller in managing and mentoring a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance and fostering professional development.
• Stay updated with industry trends, accounting standards, and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and best practices.

Senior Accountant Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting roles, with a strong focus on COGS, revenue recognition, and financial reporting.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data, including COGS and revenue metrics, and provide strategic insights.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Proven leadership abilities, including team management, mentorship, and project coordination.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment, adapt to change, and drive continuous improvement.
