About the Job
Key Responsibilities:
- Assists the Financial Analysis Lead regarding creation, monitoring, reconciliation, analysis, forecasting and budgeting of Warranty/Goodwill/Service Contract related liabilities/provisions
- Supports to prepare the quarterly studies of Warranty / Goodwill / Service Contracts liabilities/provisions in order to ensure appropriate reserve levels in BMW NA for future obligations
- Creates and posts journal entries, monitors development, prepares reconciliation, roll forwards and account analysis
- Reconciles SAP with BMW origin systems to ensure appropriate posting of interfaces in the areas of Warranty/ Goodwill / Service Contracts. In case of any variances, resolves issues timely and accurately in close cooperation with IT
- Collaborates with business and PMO whenever new products in the warranty/service contract area are to be implemented including testing of accounting processes
- Assists in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements to BMW AG and local management
- Assists the annual audit and mid-year and interim review of the financial statements and notes by our Independent Certified Public Accounting Firm
- Supports financial analysis of actual results (balance sheet and P&L) against budget, forecast and actual results
- Verifies that internal accounting controls related to accounting processes are in place and effective
- Prepares technical accounting research and guidance as it pertains to current and upcoming IFRS topics
- Supports the further automation of accounting and forecasting processes

The pay range for this role is: $105,213.00 - $123,780.00.
The selected candidate's education, skills, experience, and location will be used to determine the final salary offer. All pay ranges are based on a full-time work schedule. This statement is in accordance with state and local pay disclosure requirements.

- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and 5+ years in general accounting
- Masters' Degree in Accounting and 3+ years in general accounting can be substituted in
leu of the above requirements - Advanced knowledge of general accounting topics on both the income statement and
balance sheet areas (IFRS) - Advanced analytical skills in order to perform the complex studies / analysis of large data sets
- Advance SAP Accounting systems application
- Microsoft Office skills (esp. Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Exposure to BI Tools (Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, Adaptive, etc)
- Strong ability to understand IT processes
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
Preferences:
- CPA and/or Master's Degree in Accounting
- International and/or industry experience
