Responsibilities:
As our Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for:
1. Preparing and posting monthly journal entries and maintaining accurate and detailed records of all financial transactions.
2. Conducting monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
3. Assisting in the preparation and coordination of the audit process.
4. Providing expertise in mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence, integration, and post-merger financial management.
5. Analyzing financial reports and identifying discrepancies, financial risks, and opportunities for improvement.
6. Developing and implementing effective financial strategies, controls, and systems.
7. Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements.
8. Collaborating with the finance team and other departments to optimize financial operations and strategic projects.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA certification is highly preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or related field, with a focus on journal entries, reconciliations, audit preparation, and mergers and acquisitions.
3. Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles and procedures.
4. Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
5. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly strong Excel skills.
6. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information.
7. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a high level of initiative and flexibility.
