Our client is a leading manufacturer with a strong commitment to sustainability and employee development. They are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accountant to join their dynamic finance team.
Position Overview
The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in the accounting department, responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements, and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures. This position reports to the Accounting Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies.
- Maintain general ledger accounts by reconciling accounts receivable detail and control accounts; adjusting entries for prepaid expenses, fixed assets depreciation, accrued expenses, etc.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement.
- Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
- Analyze and report on variances between actual and budgeted results.
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal control policies.
- Prepare and file various tax returns and reports.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Document and maintain complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement.
- Stay current on accounting standards and regulations.
- Perform other accounting duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
- Experience with cost accounting is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is preferred.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
