About the Role:
Our client, a leading company in the real estate industry, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join their team. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of technical accounting expertise, leadership skills, and a proactive approach to process improvement. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with the Accounting Controller and play a key role in the financial management of a diverse real estate portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements for various real estate assets, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
• Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
• Prepare budgets and forecasts for a portfolio of properties.
• Oversee the accounting process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and the month-end close process.
• Act as the primary liaison between the Accounting Controller and the team, providing guidance and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Mentor junior accountants and promote best practices across the department.
• Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance accounting processes.
• Ensure adherence to consistent accounting procedures and protocols.
• Support internal and external audits by maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring financial records meet regulatory standards.
• Partner with the Accounting Controller to deliver actionable financial insights.
• Work with cross-functional teams to provide tools and support that drive team success.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in the real estate industry (required).
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Proven leadership experience or ability to mentor and guide a team.
• Proficiency in Yardi accounting software (required).
